A man in Hatboro got really annoyed with his neighbor’s loud snoring. So, one day, he decided to talk to his neighbor about it. But things got out of hand, and the snoring neighbor ended up getting accused of something much worse.
Here’s what happened: The man who couldn’t stand the snoring, named Christopher Casey, stabbed his neighbor, Robert Wallace, to death with a big knife. This happened because Wallace had barged into Casey’s house, threatened to kill him because of the snoring, and pushed Casey’s window open during a heated argument.
These two guys lived next to each other in a duplex with their bedrooms sharing a wall. Casey, who is 55 years old, is now facing serious charges like third-degree murder and manslaughter. He admitted to hiding a knife and a Taser when he went to talk to Wallace. Casey is in jail with a bail set at $1 million, and it’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
The police had been called to their houses multiple times before because of fights over the snoring issue. Wallace lived with his mother, and Casey lived alone.
On the day of the incident, Wallace came over to Casey’s place, knocked on the window, and threatened to kill him. They argued through the window for about 20 minutes. Eventually, Wallace calmed down and offered to shake hands and pay for surgery to stop the snoring.
Casey agreed to meet face-to-face with Wallace, but before doing that, he secretly grabbed a knife and a Taser and hid them under a blanket. When they met, Casey stabbed Wallace multiple times in the chest and accidentally stabbed himself in the leg. Wallace collapsed, and Casey called 911. Sadly, Wallace died later at the hospital.
When the police asked Casey why he stabbed Wallace, even though Wallace had calmed down and offered to help with the snoring problem, Casey said he didn’t trust Wallace’s intentions. He thought Wallace was bigger and prone to anger, so he felt threatened.
Casey is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on January 29th.
