After Nelly’s name was dragged though the mud over allegations of sexual assault overseas, the “Ride Wit Me” rapper is demanding the circumstances be the same for his accuser.
Back in November, a woman, identified only as Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit against Nelly, claiming sexual assault. In the docs, Doe said she met the rapper after his 2017 concert in England, but shortly after their introduction, she said he allegedly took her into another room, exposed himself, masturbated and then forced his penis inside her mouth.
In turn, both Nelly and his girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, denied the allegations, which ultimately resulted in Doe’s defamation suit against Jackson.
But now, in new documents filed by Nelly on Thursday and obtained by The Blast, the rapper is, once again, firing back at his accuser, demanding she reveal her identity or else.
According to The Blast, Nelly sought to dismiss a Missouri sexual assault lawsuit, saying, “Without first petitioning the Court to do so, Plaintiff filed her complaint anonymously, standing behind that anonymity as she makes serious allegations that the Complaint makes clear that she is aware will receive public attention.”
As he continued, the rapper said Doe has brought forth similar allegations in other legal proceedings, but said it’s not fair that she’s been able to avoid public scrutiny by hiding “behind a cloak of anonymity.” As a result, he wants a judge to force the woman to reveal her name or toss the case.
