Following Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz battle, Nelly and Ashanti seemingly made up on stage to the delight of fans everywhere.
Nelly joined the Big Tigger Show Thursday to talk about the viral moment where he can be seen walking across the stage toward the show’s end to hug his former flame.
Nelly said he made the grand gesture because he did not want “uncomfortable feelings” between them.
He explained it wasn’t really like that and that he made sure to say what’s up to everyone on stage.
“It was there, and I didn’t want no uncomfortable feelings or nothing like that, you know what I’m saying? Everybody was celebrating; I just said ‘What’s up,’ it was all good. But I said what’s up to everybody,” he explained.
