Over the weekend Nelly was arrested on felony drug charges when his tour bus was pulled over in Tennessee and State Troopers found crystal meth, weed, guns and more. Nelly’s lawyers have spoken out against the charges to simply say, “it wasn’t me.”
According to Scott Rosenblum, Nelly’s attorney, roughly 15-20 people had access to the tour bus so the drug’s could be anybody’s. Anybody but Nelly’s. Rosenblum also says it wasn’t meth that was found on the bus but “a small quantity of [MDMA/Ecstasy] was discovered.” However, cops tested the crystals and said that it came back as meth so who knows who is telling the truth? Considering that heroine was found on Nelly’s bus 3 years ago, it could go either way.
Rosenblum adds, “Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered.” As far as whether or not Nelly has been released yet, I tried looking him up and couldn’t find him so it’s possible Nelly is free for now. His next hearing is scheduled for June 9.
