August 27th marks National Peach Day, meant to honor the juicy and delicious fruit, though several of our favorite Georgia Peaches have given this holiday new meaning.
This sweet produce has long been a symbol of summertime, encouraging lovers of his natural sweet to enjoy the fruit in various forms. However, if you are from the south, this delectable has taken on a whole new meaning. As we know, peaches are the official state fruit of Georgia, and baddies from the region have adopted the term “Georgia Peach” as their moniker.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” also made being a “peach” a badge of honor, frequently throwing shade at fellow cast mates who were fired or “lost their peach.” Series OG, Nene Leakes often weighed in on who should and shouldn’t have a peach even after she exited, despite being one of the most well-known on the network.
Another of Georgia’s most fly ladies remains Latto. She even crowned herself a “Georgia Peach” on the intro of her album, “Sugar Honey Iced Tea.”
While these two keep us on our toes, countless other Georgia Peaches from the state have given us timeless beauty, music and talent.
