Burt Colucci, the leader of the National Socialist Movement, which is the largest Neo-Nazi group in the United States, was arrested on Monday and charged with threatening to kill African Americans and pointing his gun at them.
Colucci was in Chandler, Arizona, for the NSM rally that took place over in the area over the weekend. The NSM rally turned out to be a brief and uneventful event. So Colucci and his Neo-Nazi group tried to provoke a confrontation with Black men by calling them racial slurs, but when the black men didn’t take the bait, the group got in their cars and left.
Court documents show that Chandler police were called out to a Hilton hotel parking lot twice; the first time was in response to a call about a group of white men arguing with a group of black men.
By the time cops arrived on the scene, the black men had left, and Colucci told the cops his version of the events that had transpired.
The Neo-Nazi leader told cops there was a verbal argument and that he drew his pistol and kept it in “low-ready.” He also claimed that the black men threw things at him and causing him to pepper spray into their vehicle.
Chandler police took his report but made no arrests, but hours later, they returned, having gotten another version of the incident.
A victim contacted police and gave a statement referencing the initial incident, saying Colucci brandished a weapon and “began throwing trash on their car, using racial slurs, and threatened to kill him and the group he was with.”
According to the police report, “an independent third party witness stated…she saw Colucci point the handgun at the victim.”
Cops then arrested Colucci, hours before he was to fly home to Florida.
