Federal prosecutors claim that a former Long Island Marine participated in a neo-Nazi group called Rapekrieg that planned to rape several women “to increase the production of white children.”
According to Rolling Stone, Matthew Belanger, a US Marine who enlisted in the Marines in 2019, was being held in Hawaii after being arrested on firearms charges on June 10 in New York. He had been stationed there before being discharged from the military last year.
Prosecutors claimed Belanger was a “danger to the community” and a flight risk in a court report dated July 14. They noted that he was accused of planning to use homemade explosives like Molotov cocktails and firearms to attack an unspecified Long Island synagogue.
Craig Nolan, assistant US Attorney for the District of Hawaii, wrote in court documents that the members of Rapekrieg discussed various assaults, “including the rape of ‘enemies’ to injure, oppress, threaten, and intimidate, and the rape of white women to increase the production of white children,” to establish a white “ethnostate.”
According to court documents, the “Zionist Order of Governments” was the group’s declared opponent, a term frequently used by anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi groups.
Belanger was charged with lying to a federal weapons licensee to purchase two firearms through a “straw man” who was a New York police officer but not for his alleged role in the group. According to Rolling Stone, Belanger entered a not guilty plea to those allegations on Monday in Honolulu.
