Say what you want, but a year of free movies and television is an awesome gift to receive after announcing your retirement. Dwyane Wade knew best when he gifted Kobe Bryant a 1-year subscription of Netflix while at a small, private dinner he and a few fellow Ballers organized for Kobe Bryant celebration during All Star Weekend in Toronto. D.Wade also gave Kobe a customized robe and some other clothes bearing his logo. You’ve gotta stay fresh for your Netflix and chill, right?
Chris Paul also knew the right gifts to give a retiring player; dental adhesive, reading glasses, compression socks and a cane. Carmelo Anthony’s gifts to Kobe included a giant 1996 bottle of Italian wine, because Kobe grew up in Italy and entered the NBA in 1996.Â
Things got pretty sentimental at the private dinner. Kobe, who isn’t much of a social person, expressed his gratitude to Wade, Paul and Anthony for putting it together.  “The thing that I’ll miss is matching up with you guys,” Bryant told them. “Vanessa will tell you: I’ll be in the bed for hours — hours, man — not sleeping, watching film on you guys because you are driving me fuck*ng crazy.”
