Are You Still Watching? Netflix Gives Users The Option To Turn Off Autoplay

While the feature can be useful, it can also be somewhat annoying. But, Netflix has now made the autoplay preview optional, and also pretty easy to turn off.

Netflix announced the news in a tweet: “Some people find this feature helpful. Others not so much. We’ve heard the feedback loud and clear — members can now control whether or not they see autoplay previews on Netflix.”

After you sign in to your Netflix account, go to Manage Profiles, then choose the profile you’d like to update. Next, you will be able to click two options under the autoplay controls: “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices,” and “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices.” The options will also allow you to turn off autoplay for series since usually at the end of an episode of a show, Netflix automatically plays the next episode before the credits even finish rolling. If you uncheck the autoplay box, then you’ll have to start each episode manually.
