Netflix is possibly looking to take another step outside of its streaming content brand by adding a live stream capability.
According to Deadline and The Verge, Netflix is developing a live stream component for live content, including stand-up specials or, potentially, live reunions for some of the platform’s reality show series.
Netflix hosted its first in-person and live comedy festival Netflix Is a Joke. As most companies are still coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, brands are looking for new interactive ways to engage audience members virtually.
Live voting for Netflix series may also be a part of the platform’s live-streaming plans.
There are no details about when Netflix plans to rollout of the new feature. Still, the company told Deadline that there is a small group working on the product that is in the early stages of development.
