Nets Lay Out Six Demands For Kyrie Irving To Rejoin Team

New details have emerged about the steps the Brooklyn Nets require of Kyrie Irving if he hopes to rejoin them after being deemed “unfit to be associated” with the team.

Irving, who is currently suspended indefinitely for posting a movie filled with antisemitic tropes on social media, must complete six steps laid out by the team.

First, Irving must apologize for posting a link to the movie Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America. He will also need to condemn the film’s content, acknowledging that it is filled with harmful and false material.

The Athletic reports that the troubled star will have to make a $500,000 donation toward anti-hate causes.

Irving will need to complete both sensitivity and antisemitic training created by the Nets. He will also be required to meet with the Anti-Defamation League and Jewish community leaders.

And finally, the star will have to meet with Joe Tsai to demonstrate an understanding of how harmful his actions were.

Irving served the second game of his suspension Saturday while the Nets, who are 2-0 and without him, beat Charlotte 98-94. It’s unclear when or if Irving will complete the requirements to rejoin the team.
