Robert Kraft, owner of the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, has been slapped with criminal charges for soliciting prostitution at a Florida spa.
According to CNBC, Kraft was one of more than two dozen people involved in the police sting, as part of an investigation into human trafficking. In fact, police say the 77-year-old was even caught on camera receiving sexual services inside the facility.
“He is one of the individuals. That would be Mr. Robert Kraft,” an officer said at a press conference about the sting. “He is being charged with the same offenses as the others, and that is soliciting another to commit prostitution. We’re equally stunned as anyone else.”
The news comes just weeks after Kraft’s team won its sixth Super Bowl, and only days after Kraft’s appearance at the NBA All-Star game.
In total, according to reports, 25 people were charged as part of a widespread crackdown on sex trafficking in Palm Beach County, Florida. According to Jupiter police, the spa, in question, was reportedly involved in both prostitution and sex trafficking, with fees up to $79 an hour for 30 minutes of service. However, it remains unclear what Kraft paid.
