Before the “I put molly all in her champagne” lyric shook the world, Bill Cosby lived by such rhetoric, landing him in years-long legal trouble. Now, he is facing yet another claim of drugging and raping a woman.
A new lawsuit filed on Friday accuses the actor of raping singer Morganne Picard several times over a three-year period. According to Picard, she was invited to the set of “The Cosby Show” under false pretenses. She was told that hanging around Cosby would help her career, and she looked to him as a mentor. However, Picard says their time together was much more sinister. On one occasion, she claims Cosby handed her a drink in his home, and she passed out soon after. The performer says she woke up nude in a hotel room with pain in her groin area. Per the court documents, Picard concluded that the once-adored TV dad had sexually assaulted her.
This latest suit comes just weeks after ex-Playboy model Victoria Valentino sued Cosby for a similar incident. She says the show creator raped her in 1969 after an acting audition. Valentino is among nine other women to file lawsuits against the convicted rapist in June alone. His spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, believes the women are simply after money.
Cosby received ten years behind bars in 2018 for raping Andrea Constand at his home in 2005. However, in 2021, his conviction was overturned, and he was released. Since then, the accusations have continued against Cosby. Publicly, he seems unbothered, even contemplating a return to the stand-up comedy stage. Cosby remains tightlipped about the continued claims against him.
