A New Mexico man is charged with raping three children in a week and sexually assaulting his own 13-year-old daughter was discharged on bail twice by the same judge prior to being detained a third time on Monday following a statewide chase.
Raymond Hernandez, 29, was initially taken into custody on January 15 after reportedly raping a teenage girl and beating her friend. Judge Ernest Ortega discharged him on a $10,000 bond.
About two days later, Hernandez, who was wearing an ankle monitor, was detained again for supposedly sexually abusing a 19-month toddler who resided in the same household as the teenager he supposedly raped.
Cops brought Hernandez back to court, yet the same judge discharged him on $20,000 bond. Just days after posting it, Hernandez supposedly proceeded to rape a five-year-old girl living next door to his family and then hightailed. He was eventually detained on Sunday night in Colorado.
“I’m speechless, he needs to pay and I hope the judge puts him behind bars and keeps him there,” neighbor Gloria Lucero stated to KOB4 TV.
The district attorney states he desires to obtain an indictment this week prior to Hernandez seeing a judge once again on Thursday.
Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe informed a local media that he assumes Hernandez has yet more victims that are unidentified to authorities.
