New Music Friday is shaping up to be a great one, with R&B and hip-hop artists delivering the perfect tune to start the weekend.
Ab-Soul, who returned with his album, “Soul Burger.” The 15-track project merges elements of neo-soul with his signature West Coast sound. This serves as the follow-up to 2022’s “Herbert” album, though Ab-Soul has kept his fans fed with a steady flow of singles this year, including “Crazier,” “All That,” and “Squeeze 1st 2.” All three singles appear on “Soul Burger.”
Ahead of Friday’s releases, Ella Mai surprised her loyal fanbase with a three-pack, simply titled “3.” The tracks titled “Hearts on Deck,” “One of These,” and “Little Things” served as a subtle reminder that while Mai might’ve stepped back to focus on motherhood, her smooth vocals are just as poignant.
As Atlanta rapper Young Nudy prepares to introduce his sequel to 2019’s “Sli’merre,” he introduced the first single, “Right Now.” Reuniting with Pi’erre Bourne, the duo delivered another banger, which only offers a taste of what’s to come on “Sli’merre.”
