New Music Friday has made quite a splash, with the South having a lot to say.
First up is MMG signee Nino Breeze. Following the success of his singles “Type A N***a” and “New Era 8,” the Florida star returns with a fiery EP, “Til the Tape.” True to its title, the five-track project serves as a teaser for his long-awaited mixtape, set to drop later this year. Despite past collaborations with Moneybagg Yo and Kodak Black, Nino is the star of the show, opting only for a brief Rick Ross appearance on the intro, “One of Them Ones,” while the sole featured verse comes from Blizzem, another rising artist from Nino’s hometown of St. Petersburg, Florida. Although no release date has been confirmed for his official MMG debut, the 14-minute EP packs a punch, closing out with his viral “On the Radar Freestyle.”
EST Gee surprised fans earlier this week by announcing his new album “My World,” along with an accompanying tour. The album includes previously released singles “Take My Time Geeski SH Feb 23” and “Pablo Final Gotti,” the latter featuring his label head, Yo Gotti. Both tracks made the final 14-track cut. Amid rumors of a quiet departure from CMG, Gee has firmly denied any split. With Gotti as the album’s only feature, Gee once again puts feud talk to rest.
Kodak Black also makes noise this week with “Zap Stars,” a compilation album spotlighting his Sniper Gang roster. The project also features appearances from Luh Tyler, Trippie Redd, Just Brittany, and G6reddot, who previously welcomed a child with rapper Flo Milli. Black appears on every track, delivering the Florida flows that earned him loyal supporters over a decade ago.
