Talks of a second stimulus check have been ongoing for quite some time without one materializing, despite having support from Republicans, Democrats, and the White House.
According to a poll conducted in August for the Franklin Templeton-Gallup Economics of Recovery Study, there is overwhelming support for a second stimulus check, Forbes reports.
Seventy percent of Americans polled support a second economic impact payment to all qualified adults, with 66 percent surveyed supporting a check for $900 or more. The poll gave ranges from $300 to $900 or more, with the $900 or more option being the maximum amount. $1,200 was the amount of the first stimulus payment and is the figure that has been proposed in the HEROES Act passed by the House and the HEALS Act, which was presented by the Senate.
Hopefully, with Congress set to return from August recess, discussions over the next coronavirus relief package resume, and Congress can give the American people an answer once and for all on whether the second stimulus payment is coming.
