Following last week’s revolt at the US Capitol, New York City will terminate business contracts with Donald Trump, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on Wednesday.
The Trump Organization is under city contract to operate the two ice rinks and a carousel in Central Park and a golf course in the Bronx.
De Blasio said that The Trump Organization receives around $17 million a year from those sites.
“I am here to announce that all contracts with the Trump Organization are being severed by the city of New York,” de Blasio said.
The Trump Organization was sent an email requesting comment Wednesday.
It is the latest example of how the Jan. 6 breach by violent Trump supporters is impacting the Republican president’s business interests.
Next year, the PGA of America voted Sunday to take the PGA Championship away from his New Jersey golf course, a step that came after social media sites blocked Trump’s accounts and Shopify shut down online stores associated with him.
