A woman recently claimed that New York Mayor Eric Adams sexually assaulted her back in 1993.
This accusation was made in a court document under New York’s Adult Survivors Act. The act, which started in 2022 and is about to expire, allows people to file lawsuits for sexual abuse, regardless of how long ago it happened.
The woman’s legal action also involves the NYPD and two other unnamed parties. At the time of the alleged incident, Adams was a police captain, and both he and the woman were city employees.
The legal document doesn’t give all the details yet but says the woman experienced physical and mental harm from what happened.
Mayor Adams, through a spokesperson, strongly denies knowing the woman or the assault.
Additionally, the NYPD doesn’t have records of the woman working there.
