New York Undercover Reboot Coming To NBC’s Peacock

Dick Wolf’s police drama New York Undercover is returning to the small screen.

NBCUniversal’s streaming platform Peacock is in negotiations for the reboot, according to Deadline.

The original aired for four seasons on Fox from 1994 to 1999. The reboot will pick 20 years after the original and reflect the current times. Malik Yoba and Michael DeLorenzo starred as undercover detectives.

The Chi’s former showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis will serve as writer and showrunner on the Wolf Entertainment produced show. UniTv, part of Universal StudioGroup, will produce in association with Wolf Entertainment.

The show is still in its very early stages, and it is unknown if any of the original actors will be on board to reprise their former roles.

Earlier this year, Universal Television signed a five-year overall deal with Wolf that spans broadcast and streaming. Peacock boats the majority of Wolf’s catalog, including the popular Law & Oder and Chicago franchises.

The streaming service currently has reboots of Battlestar Galactica, Saved By The Bell, and Punky Brewster in the works.
