Ex- owner Carolina Panthers, #JerryRichardson is being fined $2.75 million for racial and sexual misconduct.
On Thursday (June 28), the results of a several month-long investigation were announced following allegations from former and current Carolina Panthers employees.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Attorney and SEC Chairman Mary Jo White, and according to the NFL, “claims that have been made, and identified no information that would either discredit the claims made or that would undermine the veracity of the employees who have made those claims.”
Some of the allegations “were publicly reported,” and the probe didn’t only include Richardson. White found “no other employee of the Panthers is alleged to have engaged in such conduct.” According to NFL.com, Richardson’s allegations included three cases of sexual harassment and an incident where he used a racial slur toward a team scout. In one allegation, a woman wrote a letter about how “she didn’t know what to do” about alleged sexual advances Richardson made towards her.

“I didn’t know what to do when you called me to your stadium suite in the middle of the week so you could take off my shoes, place my legs in your lap and rub their entire length, from toes to crotch – – I didn’t know what to do when you brushed my breasts to put my seat belt around me in the front seat of your car. I didn’t know what to do when you put your hands on my mouth, for me to kiss them. I didn’t know what to do when you asked me uncomfortable, sexually charged questions. I didn’t know what to do. So, I did what you told me to do.”

Most of the $2.75 million fine will go towards several organizations that work towards alleviating race and gender-centered issues in professional settings.
