Nia Guzman, the mother of Chris Brown’s daughter Royalty, has broken her silence about the extent of her relationship with the singer. She sat down Latina.com, to spill about co-parenting, legal battles, and the very viral confrontation with one of the biggest R&B superstars in the world, over Royalty’s ballet photo.
Guzman kicked off the interview stating that the co-parenting situation with Brown, who was once a good friend of hers, has been “quite the experience.” She even went as far to suggest the experience hasn’t been the best since the world found out about Royalty. “I can’t say anything positive about it….at all. Nothing positive,” she said. However, she claimed she saw it coming since Brown is young and wild, with a “bad boy persona,” which is why they initially agreed to keep the news of Brown fathering Royalty private. But, since the news broke, the two have been at odds publicly. Between Guzman claiming that the singer lied about using protection, taking her option to decide if she wanted his child, as well as her accusations of Momma Breezy telling her all about the superstar’s drug abuse, it has been a social media war between the two.
The latest occurred after Guzman posted a photo of Royalty in her ballet outfit, which was cute to some and very inappropriate to others; Brown being one of those who were displeased. However, Guzman didn’t see the big deal, she thought it was cute, which is why she posted it. But, she couldn’t understand why she received backlash of it. Guzman claimed she would have rathered Brown contact her via telephone, however, after the public display of disapproval Guzman assured that pushed her over the edge. “After that comment, I don’t think there’s going to be any good in talking, so we just don’t.”
The interview continued as Guzman began to discuss her court issues with Brown. However, she claimed the reports of her trying to limit Brown’s days with her daughter were completely false. Apparently, she only went to court to set a nanny in place for the days that Royalty is with her dad. Everything else, according to Guzman, was agreed upon or appointed by the courts, including the money she requested from Brown to support her daughter. “I just want to have Royalty in a safer home. I would want it to be not leave to dad, not be in a mansion, and huge playrooms and backyards and TV rooms, and then she comes home with me and you know, she’s in a small apartment. I just want to keep her balanced. He feels like she should have everything when she’s with him, and limited when she’s with me. I don’t think that is okay, at all.”
As the interview wrapped, Guzman just wanted everyone to know there is, “nothing hateful, ill or malicious” in her bones. She wants the best for everyone and peace in everyone’s life. She feels like her children make their daddies better and she’s happy to be a part of it.
