Nick Cannon praises the cancellation of Jada Pinkett-Smith’s “Red Table Talk,” labeling the Facebook Watch series as “toxic.”
During the new episode of The Daily Cannon, Nick made comments suggesting that Will Smith’s well-known slap of Chris Rock during the Academy Awards could have been avoided if he hadn’t appeared on his wife’s talk show.
“If there was no Red Table Talk, then he wouldn’t have slapped the sh*t out of Chris Rock,” Nick said. “That was royalty, Will and Jada. Then they brought it to the table. I don’t want to know all this sh*t about y’all.”
Cannon further criticized the “toxic table” conversations and expressed that he did not wish to have such an extensive knowledge about the Smiths.
“I just want to mind my Black-owned business. I don’t want to be up in everybody else’s kitchen,” he added. “Keep that sh*t to y’all selves.”
Following Jada’s year-long affair with R&B singer August Alsina, Will appeared on Red Table Talk to discuss the impact of the “entanglement” had on their relationship.
“I was devastated even worse than a divorce,” Will said at the time. “We broke up within our marriage and got back together again. We had to rebuild with new rules and something way, completely different.”
Nevertheless, the talk show ended after Meta announced the closure of its Facebook Watch platform. The termination resulted in a handful of talk shows being cancelled, one of which was Red Table Talk.
