As Nick Cannon continues to mourn the loss of his infant son, the TV host has unveiled a new tattoo celebrating him.
During Friday’s episode of his daytime talk show, the actor and rapper showed his audience a framed image of his new body art. The ink is an image of baby Zen with angel wings and a halo hovering over his head. The 41-year-old said that the tattoo was located on his rib, and while getting it was painful, it was “so well worth it.” Â
“I enjoyed every moment of the experience to forever have my son right here as my rib, right here on my side, as my angel,” he added.
Last week, Cannon revealed that his 5-month-old son had passed away after a battle with Hydrocephalus, a form of brain cancer most common in infants and elderly adults. The couple noticed that Zen was coughing and breathing differently, which prompted them to seek medical attention. Doctors told them that the child had fluid buildup on his brain, and he underwent emergency brain surgery. Sadly his condition worsened during Thanksgiving.Â
He and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen back in June. She, too, penned a touching tribute to her baby boy on Instagram, writing that it was an “honor and privilege” being his mother.
