Earlier this month Disney star Zendaya Coleman backed out of the Lifetime movie based on the life of late R&B singer, Aaliyah. Initially production on the film had to be halted but today it has been announced that a new star has been chosen to portray the role. Alexandra Shipp, of Nickelodeon’s House of Anubis, has taken on the role. If that’s not enough news for today, Wendy Williams has been brought on to executive produce the made-for-tv film.”I’m excited to exec produce the Aaliyah @lifetimetv movie w/ @DebraMChase. Prod starts later this month and @AlexShipppp will play Aaliyah.” she tweeted earlier today.Â
Wendy’s current production credits include “The Wendy Williams Project” and “Wendy Williams: Queen of Media”.
