Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, were ordered to pay a substantial amount after being accused of assaulting a security guard during a 2019 concert.
As per court records, Nicki and Kenneth have been instructed to pay $500,000 in settlement to a former bodyguard who sued Petty last year. The lawsuit was filed by a previous bodyguard of the rapper, identified as Thomas Weidenmuller, residing in Germany. He alleged that Petty assaulted him following a Nicki concert in Frankfurt in 2019.
Weidenmuller claimed that Petty punched him in the face while he was trying to protect a female security officer, leading him to sue the couple for $750,000, citing battery and emotional distress. Although Weidenmuller did not receive the exact amount he requested, the couple is still required to pay $500,000 in damages.
According to Weidenmuller, Minaj became frustrated and blamed the female guard for allowing a fan to breach a barricade and climb onto the stage with her. Allegedly, Minaj began recording the female security guard while berating her. Weidenmuller claimed that he intervened, expressing to Minaj that it was wrong for the guard’s professional reputation to be tarnished on social media.
In response, Minaj reportedly threw a shoe at Weidenmuller, narrowly missing him. Weidenmuller alleges that Petty later accused him of disrespecting Minaj and struck him in the face, leaving him “stunned and disoriented.”
