Nicki Minaj celebrated her son turning three months old by hosting a Twitter Q&A with her followers, where she answered some pretty personal questions about her pregnancy.
Nicki opened up about where she was when her water broke, her experience giving birth, and that breastfeeding was “painful.” She also referred to moms as superheroes.
“Yes. I was butt naked. Just got out the shower & I asked him [husband Kenneth Petty] to rub my back,” she said about her water breaking. “As soon as I started scooting over to him in the bed, I just felt the water start coming out. I was weirdly calm & I quietly said, ‘omg, I’m about to be in labor.”

She revealed that she was calm during the experience, but her husband was not. He was scared, and the rapper laughed at him.
She was in labor all night, but they let her sleep until she was dilated enough for her to push. She had a natural vaginal birth with an epidural.

“I pushed for 2 1/2 hours. Only b/c first, the epidural didn’t wear off enough for me to feel myself pushing,” she recalled. “Once I was able to feel the pain, I pushed him on out.”

When asked about her first time breastfeeding her son, whose name has not been revealed, the emcee said she had no problem.
“He latched on in the hospital, which was very surprising to me. I was afraid maybe he wouldn’t. But breastfeeding is very painful. Pumping is too. Women make this stuff look way too easy. Moms r really superheroes.”
