Nicki Minaj is raising eyebrows after revealing plans to speak at a high-level event focused on alleged religious persecution in Nigeria.
In the coming days, the Queens native will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz to address global concerns about the treatment of Christians in the West African country. The event, organized with the help of political strategist and devout Trump advisor Alex Bruesewitz, will highlight what they call ongoing violence and international calls for U.S. intervention.

Minaj shared her thoughts online and praised Waltz for allowing her the opportunity to speak up about the situation.

The move follows Minaj’s earlier support for Trump’s call to list Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” over faith-based violence.
Not everyone is sold on her shift into political spaces, but Minaj made it clear she sees this as purpose-driven. It’s unclear when her speech will take place. However, all eyes will be on the rapper as she moves to use her massive platform in a way she’s never done before.
