Nicki Minaj Discusses Cardi B, Drake & Meek Mill + More In Beats 1 Interview On #NickiDay

After taking a four-month hiatus from social media (and basically the rest of the world) Nicki Minaj is back. Now in a sit down with Zane Lowe, the Queens rapper is releasing new music and receipts.

Minaj shouted out fellow female rappers like #KashDoll, #LadyLuck #Trina and even congratulated #CardiB on her recent success before dishing on her true opinion of the #BodakYellow rapper. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“The first interview she did after Motorsport came out, it just really hurt me,” Nicki said of Cardi. “She just kept saying ‘oh I didn’t hear that verse, she changed her verse.’ I was like what?”

According to Minaj, she was initially supposed to do a song with Quavo, but heard Motorsport and asked to get on it instead. Minaj says Quavo texted her later to ask if he could also put Cardi on the song and she replied, “Yea, let’s do it”.

Minaj went on to explain that after people began to think she was lying about the way her Motorsport verse came about, she asked  #Quavo to clear the air, which he refused, adding that he would’ve if she was his ”girl.”

She also touched on the #Drake and #MeekMill situation.

“It was one of the hardest parts of my career to date,” she said. “At the time I really loved both of them. I couldn’t erase the love I had for my team but I couldn’t say much.”

Minaj says that she told Meek not to start the beef and that Drake told her his only concern was her possibly dissing him.

As for the music, the Pink Print rapper released two new songs #BarbieTingz and #ChunLi. Nicki confirmed that her album Weill be out this year and her tour is also set to begin before the year’s end.
