Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J and Jack Harlow have been tapped to emcee this year’s MTV VMAs.
The hip-hop heavyweights will announce the show’s presenters, winners and performers, including Khalid, Lizzo, J Balvin, Anitta and more.
In addition to hosting, Minaj and Harlow are also scheduled to hit the stage.
According to the network, the trio will reportedly be taking a “more innovative and unique approach” to the traditional hosting gig. This year marks the first time since the show has been anchored by more than two co-hosts since the ’80s.
LL Cool J, a three-time nominee, won best rap video for “Mama Said Knock You Out” in 1999. He also was a recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award in 1997 and was the first rapper to receive the honor.
Nicki Minaj, a 17-time nominee, has won five awards over the span of her career and is set to receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award. She’s also up for best hip-hop video this year.
Jack Harlow is tied for most nominations this year with seven and is set to make his first solo performance debut.
The VMAs will air live this year from the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Aug. 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
Voting for the award show’s 22 categories is now open. Fans have until Friday to cast a vote for their favorite artists.
Voting for best new artist will be live up until show time.
