Nicki Minaj held a pop-up in Cleveland, Ohio, to celebrate her Loci sneakers collaboration with DTLR. During the event, she shared a few words of wisdom about unity amongst the Black elites.
DTLR radio host Fadam Got Da Juice had several questions for the Queen, one of which involved whether or not she believed there would ever be unity amongst “our people.”
“Do we have unity amongst human beings? Like, if its eight billion people in the world, imagine thinking all eight billion people gon’ get along with each other,” Minaj explained, further adding, “I used to be a waitress. It was a bunch of people not getting along in there. I mean, no matter where you go, you’re going to be at odds with people. I think the point, though, is when you get to a place where nothing around you affects what’s inside of you.”
Later in the conversation, the “Pink Friday” star was asked how people could possibly make things right with Lil Wayne after his NFL Super Bowl Halftime show snub. However, she quickly dodged the subject, which she had been vocal about in recent days. Instead, Minaj chose to take the high road, diverting the conversation back to her Loci sneaker line, now being available in DTLR stores.
