Nicki Minaj is weighing in on Trump’s recent message addressing the growing violence against Christians in Nigeria, and she’s expressing both gratitude and concern.
In a post on X, Trump declared that Christianity is facing “an existential threat” in Nigeria, claiming thousands of Christians have been killed and naming the country a “Country of Particular Concern.” He called on U.S. lawmakers to investigate, stating that the United States “cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening.”
Nicki Minaj responded shortly after, sharing that the post gave her “a deep sense of gratitude.” She reflected on the freedom to worship in the U.S. and stressed that no one should be targeted for their religious beliefs.
“We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other,” Minaj wrote, urging her followers not to ignore global suffering. She thanked Trump and his team “for taking this seriously” and encouraged people to “lift them up in prayer.”
Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God.
No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.
