During her trip to her native land, Trinidad and Tobago for the Carnival festivities, Nicki Minaj also used the trip to further her humanitarian efforts by donating a generous $25,000 to the St. Jude’s Home for Girls.
While visiting the girls’ home, Minaj made the exciting announcement as the young girls looked on.
“I wanna thank you for your work with the girls. I wanna thank you for giving them hope and inspiration, and they’ve even given me hope and inspiration being here today. And I wanna donate $25,000 to help the girls.”
She also used the opportunity to express her interest in creating a rec center for the youth in Trinidad.
“I came to get ideas, and you guys gave me a lot of great ideas on creating a building here in Trinidad where young people can go to and have recreational fun.”
Minaj was forced to issue an apology earlier this week while in the Caribbean after video of her husband surfaced, showing him nudging Trinidadian artist Iwer George following a misunderstanding as George reached over to get Nicki’s attention. She attributed the incident to her husband, “always in security mode,” and eager to protect her.
