Jelani Maraj, 37 year old brother of Nicki Minaj, has been indicted by a grand jury on child rape charges, Bossip exclusively reports.
Maraj, who recently got married, is accused of repeatedly raping a 12 year old girl. He was arrested in December of 2015, to which Nicki allegedly posted his $100k bond.
The grand jury deliberated for about a month before determining that there was enough evidence to charge Jelani Maraj. The decision was handed down on April 4.
Maraj, accompanied by his attorneys, appeared at the Nassau County Court for his arraignment on Tuesday, where he plead not guilty.
According to Bossip, Maraj is facing a top charge of felony predatory sexual assault against a child. He also faces additional charges including felony sexual conduct against a child under age 13, sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. The top charge alone holds a sentence of 15 years to life.
