Nicki Minaj’s Mom Sits Down For Tell-All Interview About Her Son’s Child Rape Case

Just one day after Nicki Minaj dropped her highly anticipated fourth studio album, “Queen,” her mom, Carol Maraj dropped a project of her own: an in-depth interview about her son, Jelani Maraj’s child rape case.

In an interview with Hip-Hop Hood Report, Maraj shared pages of transcripts and motions presented in her son’s defense, including details of an alternate juror.

“As soon as that alternate juror was sent away, he spoke to the press,” she said. “He said that he would have freed Jelani Maraj because there was no evidence.”

“He said because every piece of clothing or evidence that was presented, came back negative. And that was what he said,” Maraj said. “He also went on to say, why would they say if [Nicki Minaj] wasn’t there, that means he was guilty. And why would they talk about what Wendy Williams says?”

As she continued, she said there was also evidence that there were jurors talking about the trial way before the deliberations were complete, disobeying the rules and regulations of the court.

“We have the affidavit to prove that [the jurors] were busy talking about his sister, why he didn’t take the stand, ‘that means he was guilty,’ and they totally ignored the evidence that there was no evidence to prove this man guilty,” she said. “So they went by their own mind, their own feelings and they already had him guilty way before the trial ended.”

Maraj also elaborated about the DNA evidence, which, according to the transcript, was inconclusive. However, according to Maraj, there were conflicting stories. First, she said initial reports claimed Jelani’s DNA was not a match. But, shortly after, another site claimed Jelani’s DNA to be a match, while the transcript said “inconclusive.”

As she continued, she ultimately blamed the attorneys for feeding information to the media, changing the narrative and refusing to take into consideration all of the evidence.
