On Wednesday, The Blast obtained court documents that stated that Weston Cage, son of actor Nicolas Cage, has filed for a restraining order against his mother, Christina Fulton. The 29-year-old actor accuses his mother of attempting to control him. Weston said that he speculates that his mother, Christina, has firearms and ammunition in her possession.
In the documents, Weston asked the court to protect him and his family (wife and two daughters) and for Christina to return his belongings, including his ID, passport, wallet, wedding ring, and apartment keys. He also asked that the court order his mother to stay 100 yards away from him and anything he is associated with to prevent her from contacting him.
Weston informed the court that the last encounter of reported abuse with his mother was on July 10. He stated that “Christina gave private information, photographs, and texts of mine to cause emotional distress and ruin my career while I was in treatment. She prolonged my state of psychosis and gave me a phone she connected to a computer to stalk me through iMessage. She impersonated me.”
From the end of February to now, Weston says that his mother has removed him from his family home. According to The Blast, although the rest of the paragraph was hard to read due to handwriting, it is believed that Weston claimed that instead of taking him to treatment like she promised his wife, Christina kept Weston isolated in a hotel, while his condition worsen.
He added:
“While having mental health problems and in the state of psychosis, Christina was using psychological abuse to restrict my access to go to treatment & to my family. She did this by withholding my phone; she took my wallet and identification. Shortly after, all of them resulted in my hospitalization 5150 for a worsened state … in fear of losing her grasp on me.”
Weston also attempted to explain why he needed protection for his family members, as well.
“They are my family & Christina has been threatening and harassing as well as disturbing the peace with gossip, lies, and inaccurate information, she has caused distress for months,” he claimed.
A judge denied Weston’s request for a restraining order; however, the young actor will argue his case at a scheduled hearing in August.
