Nike is sticking with Ja Morant, despite his latest suspension.
In a statement following Adam Silver’s announcement that Morant would be suspended 25 games for brandishing a gun on Instagram Live, Nike issued a statement saying they won’t cut ties with the Memphis Grizzlies superstar.
“We are pleased that Ja is taking accountability and prioritizing his well-being,” the shoe retailer said. “We will continue to support him on and off the court.”

After the second video surfaced, the sneaker giant pulled all of Morant’s shoes from its site and app, indicating that there could be trouble. But the Ja 1 “Hunger” colorway that was scheduled to release was eventually re-added and sold out in minutes.
Morant was initially suspended eight games after flashing a gun in a Denver strip club in March. The hoopster expressed remorse for his actions, but another video surfaced just two months later showing Morant holding a gun while sitting in a car on Instagram Live. The latest incident led to the 25-game suspension.
There was some question about whether Morant would face additional consequences. But it appears his Nike deal remains intact for now.
