You may want to think again if you’re attempting to buy shoes online through Nike’s Russian website. The footwear company has officially suspended online sales in Russia amid its ongoing attack on Ukraine.
If anyone tries to purchase through the website, buyers will be greeted with a message on Nike’s front page. The Russian message translates to “Nike currently cannot guarantee product delivery to customers in Russia. Purchases on the nike.com website and the Nike app are temporarily unavailable in this region. Visit your nearest Nike store.”
Nike isn’t the first company to halt its business with Russia. Other major corporations like Apple have decided to cut ties with the country altogether. However, Nike isn’t 100 percent ending trade with Russia. The online message directs customers to its 100+ physical locations in the country. This is likely due to UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other major shipping companies halting their business with Russia.
Nike has yet to comment and discuss their future business deals with Russia.
