Nipsey Hussle’s contributions will be entered into the Congressional Record as a part of United States history.
The love and admiration for late rapper Nipsey Hussle are coming in abundance from people around the world. Not only was Nipsey a Grammy-Nominated rap star, but he was also a philanthropist and business owner who dedicated his life to rebuilding his community. Because of that, his hard work will be honored by being entered into the Congressional Record as United States history.
Thanks to Congresswoman Karen Bass, who was a fan and advocate for Nispey, she made sure to announce the movement. Bass represents California’s 37th District, which includes Los Angeles. Bass has pledged to enter the late rapper’s social contributions into the Congressional Record, where they would live on in perpetuity, Billboard reported. She tweeted, “I will be heading to the House Floor next week to formally enter Nipsey Hussle’s contributions to South Los Angeles into the Congressional Record where it will be a part of United States history forever.”
Bass also said in a statement, ”Nipsey loved his community and it showed,” she explained in a statement issued Sunday. “He was involved in many programs and projects to give back to South L.A., including Destination Crenshaw, which he worked on with Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson and others to honor our community with celebration and service. Nipsey’s legacy will live on in all of those who continue to uplift, those who continue to inspire, and those who continue to lift as they climb. My heart goes out to his family and the community that loved and admired him. Nipsey Hussle’s legacy will live forever in Crenshaw.”
Nipsey’s suspected murderer, #EricHolder, is now in custody with a more than $7 million bond. Holder was captured on Tuesday.
Rest in power, Nipsey.
