No Matter What Your Next Chapter Entails, Do Not Burn Bridges

Often times, we go into the workforce to ensure that we have a roof over our head and to provide for our family. It may not be the career we want at the time but we are able to get the experience that is needed to get where we really want to go within your field.

It doesn’t matter how you got the job or whether or not the job is for you, but understand that someone took a chance out on you. They hired you because they saw your ability to do great things. Use that experience to help you grow and manifest in your dreams.

Until you are able to follow your dreams full time and can afford to provide off of that, continue to work on it on the side. Don’t leave the job that puts food on the table for you and family. Use this time to show progress. When the time is right, you will know.

When you do decide to move onto the next chapter, don’t burn bridges with your current colleagues. You never know what you may need them for or who they may know. Always leave on good terms. Everyone makes the choice to better themselves within their career, social life, or personal life, so your colleagues will understand your decision to move forward.

Remember to always respect those around you. Thank your former colleagues for giving you that opportunity. Who’s to say that they won’t put in a good word for you on your journey. So, always stay true to yourself and keep those bridges standing tall. You never know who may cross that bridge to help you excel!
