According to reports, an MTA motorman could now be facing jail time after he allegedly allowed his girlfriend to operate a D train through multiple stations in Brooklyn on Friday.
Police are now looking for 28-year-old Dominique Belgrave after she posted an Instagram story of her and her boyfriend, Terrell Harris, holding hands over the train’s controls during their romantic ride through 50th street, 55 street, and 62nd street.
One of the many videos posted to Belgrave’s now private account says: “Yes, this is me operating the train right now.”
Another clip showed Belgrave alone at the controls of the love train as it passed through underground stations, posing for a selfie with Harris in the passenger seat.
At Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, Harris and Belgrave complained about how difficult it is to see the marker indicating where operators must stop from the train’s cab.
She yells, “Y’all ain’t put the stickers in a visible place!”
“Back inside I go,” she says in a third clip as she enters the car’s public area. “Conducting The D U Hurdddd,” reads the caption on Belgrave’s photo.
An MTA worker who saw the video sent it to a supervisor, who reported it to the NYPD.
Mr. Craig Cipriano, the interim Transit president, said that Harris will be disciplined. According to SeeThroughNY, the 32-year-old MTA employee earned $117,486 in 2020.
“This video is beyond egregious showing a train operator who betrayed the trust of New Yorkers while creating a dangerous condition,” Cipriano said in a statement. “I want to assure customers that the operator involved has been removed from service and will no longer be allowed to control a train.”
On Facebook, Belgrave brags about the illegal breach of a Transit Authority operator’s cab and suggests she might be angling for a job herself.
In her post, she wrote: “All you MTA f–kers tryna add me on my Facebook and IG eat a big fat Turtle neck cheesy D–k how bout that.”
The incident was reported to the NYPD by other MTA employees.
“I’ll might start at the bottom but ima move my way up they gon see me in traffic.”
It’s unclear if Harris or Belgrave will be charged with a crime.
