A New York City man was arrested with 20,000 rainbow fentanyl pills on Friday and was back on the street the same day.
Manuel Pagan, 49, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree. He was released on his own recognizance.Â
The Washington Heights man was found to be in possession of the rainbow-colored pills in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood. Drug dealers are manufacturing brightly colored fentanyl pills to target younger users, according to authorities.Â
Pagan was released the same day after his crime falls under a list of charges now eligible for bail under 2019 legislation that overhauled the state’s bail system.
Pagan is scheduled to be back in court next month.Â
