As Bill Cosby makes his transition to prison, following his sentence of three to 10 years, former prisoner OJ Simpson gave Cosby a warning: “rapists are frowned upon in prison.”
TMZ caught up with the 71-year-old who was playing golf in Nevada. Understanding what it feels like to be a celebrity in prison, the ex-athlete shared his two cents on Cosby’s current situation. “I’m sure there will be guys protecting him but they’re gonna have to put him in protective custody … because it takes one nut, ya know?” “The problem is the nature of the crime,” added Simpson, who recently spent nine years in prison for kidnapping and armed robbery.
The former comedian was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison on Tuesday, which he will serve in Pennsylvania. Cosby was found guilty of sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004, and about 60 more women came forward with more sexual assault allegations, including rape. For now, Cosby is being held in a State Correctional Institution cell in Phoenix where he will eventually be moved to his final prison.
Simpson who was acquitted of the murder of his wife Nicole said Cosby’s crime won’t be taken well by other inmates. “With his health and his age and the nature of the crime, there’s not a warden in this country wants the responsibility of a Bill Cosby,” Simpson said.
