O.J. Simpson’s estate is preparing to auction off a collection of his personal belongings, ranging from sports memorabilia to more unexpected items—including his prison pornography stash. The auction, proposed by Simpson’s estate administrator Malcolm LaVergne, is expected to take place between March 12 and March 29 and will be handled by Goldin Auctions LLC. However, Simpson’s children have until February 26 to object before the sale moves forward.
Among the potential items up for grabs are a painting of O.J. by Andy Warhol, a signed USC Heisman poster, and photos of Simpson with political figures like Bill Clinton and Henry Kissinger. Fans of his acting career might also find interest in pictures from his movie appearances in The Naked Gun and The Cassandra Crossing.
The auction may also include a series of plaques celebrating Simpson’s accomplishments in the NFL, his golf career, and even his status as a fantasy football legend. Additionally, there are legal documents from his time behind bars, including handwritten grievances and power of attorney papers. One of the more intriguing finds is a handwritten manuscript in which Simpson allegedly discusses Bruce Jenner and the Kardashians.
Of course, the most bizarre item expected to hit the auction block is Simpson’s infamous prison porn collection, which was previously rumored to be sold off following his passing.
Since Simpson’s death last year, LaVergne has made it clear that the auction is intended to pay off creditors seeking claims against the estate. Notably missing from the auction list, however, is Simpson’s deathbed, which made headlines last month but is not currently slated for sale.
Unless Simpson’s children file objections, the auction is expected to move forward as planned, putting a piece of O.J.’s controversial legacy up for grabs.
