Atlanta has designated a day in honor of Lil Nas X!
The Atlanta City Council officially dubbed October 20 as “Lil Nas X Day,” honoring the “Industry Baby” rapper for his impact on the LGBTQ community.
City councilman and mayoral candidate Antonio Brown, the city’s first Black LGBTQ council member, presented Lil Nas X with the proclamation plaque during a special dinner at The Gathering Spot ATL.
“He has made a considerable impact on the LGBTQ community by reshaping how society accepts LGBTQ artists within the music industry and empowering others to break barriers and be more open, expressive and personal through music and art,” Brown said.

Lil Nas X was born and raised in the Atlanta area.
