Cleveland Brown wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has reportedly suffered a major knee injury after attempting to make a tackle during the return of a Baker Mayfield interception during the first quarter of today’s winning game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
According to CBS Sports, an MRI scheduled for tomorrow morning will determine the exact prognosis.
Beckham was the intended receiver on Mayfield’s first attempt of the game. Mayfield tried to force a pass to Beckham, but the ball appeared underthrown and was ultimately picked off by Darius Phillips.
Beckham turned around to chase Philips the other way but crashed into Phillips and Cleveland fullback Andy Janovich as he was trying to make the tackle.
Beckham ended up injured and had to be escorted to the locker room by the Browns’ training staff and did not return for the rest of the game.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns do not have any definitive diagnosis after today’s win. “Sometimes [it’s] hard to know for sure,” the source told Schefter. “Obviously, hope we dodge a bullet.”
