Odell Beckham’s rise to fame went from zero to a hundred real quick. The New York Giant initially became a fan favorite for his infamous catch and end-zone dances. His feud with Josh Norman and his dance videos on social media propelled his popularity even higher. However, the 23 year old Baton Rouge Baller is still getting adjusted to all of the attention.
A few months ago, photos surfaced of the wide receiver with reality star, Khloe Kardashian at Drake’s pool party. Not too long afterwards, as far as everyone was concerned, Khlodell was the new celebrity couple.
Although, Khloe killed those allegations via Twitter once she got wind of the rumors of her supposed involvement with Beckham, that may not have been enough to prevent a fallout with someone on the athlete’s end.
In the August issue of GQ magazine, Beckham talked about the photos, the rumors, and the consequences they may have caused.
“Whoever was there taking the pictures inside of a private party, inside of a private-er, private-er area of the house—we were in the kitchen of the house, where there was only like 15 people. It’s just kind of like…’dating’?” he said. “I just met this person. This is maybe the second conversation we’ve had.”
“Things go like that,” he said, “and then some other girl that I may have been talking to her about it, and now it’s more drama, more commotion in my life. And I’m sitting here trying to explain my situation to somebody, and it’s really not even a situation.”
Beckham also touched on his on-field feud with Norman. He revealed his opinion on Norman’s move to the Redskins, calling it a “smart business move.” But, claims it was done to guarantee at least two match ups.
“If I wasn’t playing him twice a year, maybe people wouldn’t bring it up as much,” he said. “But now it’ll be a lot more media attention for him, attention that I don’t really look for, attention I don’t really need. The reason that he’s become so relevant is because of me.”
Since, the interview dropped Odell tweeted, “People so messy ….it’s funny,” however, the context of the tweet is unclear.
Norman hasn’t made any official statements about Beckham but he retweeted a fans tweet that read, “Odell Beckham just gave more motivation to an already hungry Josh Norman. Good Luck with that.”
The good news is football season is 48 days away.
