A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer is believed to have been murdered by his fellow officers after it was learned that he was going to expose a group of cops who allegedly gang-raped a woman back in 2021.
Officer Houston Tipping, 32, died after suffering a spinal cord injury during a training exercise on May 26 at the Police Academy. Tipping fell down while he was holding another officer in a “bear hug” grappling exercise. However, his death is now being looked into as a possible murder after his mother, Shirley Hoffman, claimed her son was investigating four cops who were suspected of gang-raping a woman. One of the cops who was involved in the gang rape case was there when he died, Daily Mail reports.
While the department claims Tipping died due to the fall, his mother says he was “repeatedly struck in the head severely enough that he bled.” One autopsy allegedly shows Tipping had broken ribs and that a CPR machine was used to try to revive him. But Shirley’s attorney, Brad Gage, says “other medical reports show the LUCAS device was never used.” There’s also no video footage from that day’s trading.
During a press conference, Gage shared that the female accuser said she was raped by four different people, all of whom were LAPD officers. The victim also knew their names and saw they were wearing their uniforms.
“The victim claimed that she was raped by four different people, all LAPD officers. She knew the names of some of those officers because they were in uniform and they had their name tags on,” Gage said on Monday, in footage from Sean Beckner-Carmitchel for Knock LA. “That name of one of those officers with the name tag seems to correlate with one of the officers that was at the bicycle training.”
Tipping is regarded as being selfless man who made people laugh. He leaves behind his parents, his two siblings and his girlfriend.
