Offset is not here for an aspiring influencer who is cosplaying as late Migos star Takeoff.
The man known as @Takedown_Not_Takeoff, posted a video of himself shopping in a Versace-inspired shirt and white shades, resembling Takeoff. In an even more eerie aspect of the video, the man calls himself a “celebrity look-alike”. He begins demonstrating certain mannerisms and adlibs to make himself appear more like “The Last Rocket” hitmaker. Takedown claims people believe they see the “ghost of Takeoff” when they encounter him.
After the post went viral, attracting over 19,000 likes, Offset noticed it and hopped into Takedown’s comment section to slam him for his distasteful impersonation.
“No, you don’t twin sh** not funny,” Offset wrote.
Instead of apologizing, Takedown tried justifying his actions and suggested he was acting as Takeoff as a way to pay homage.
“No disrespect but I think I do and so do others but why we can’t turn something negative into something positive? Long live Takeoff,” he wrote back to Offset.
A quick glance at Takedown’s profile reveals that he has been impersonating Takeoff since at least February 2023, following the QC rapper’s death. The Grammy award nominee was gunned down in Houston, Texas, on November 1st, 2022. He was murdered inside the 810 Billiards & Bowling alley after a dice game between Quavo and several other men turned violent. Sadly, the aftermath of his killing was posted online, showing his deceased body as others stood around him.
Quavo has not commented on the video.
