A notorious meat thief has been nabbed for the 70th time, trying to escape a Walmart store with hundreds of dollars worth of meat.
Law enforcement in South Euclid, Ohio, detained the unidentified man on Thursday, January 5th. Workers at Walmart called the police to report a shoplifter who hurried out with a cart filled with various cuts of packed meat and a suitcase. He was then seen walking in the parking lot, where he stopped and began loading the cuts into the luggage. However, when he couldn’t fit everything in the bag, he chose to toss the extras in a nearby dumpster.Â
When police arrived, they found the 62-year-old man at a bus stop across the street from the grocery store. He would later admit that he frequently sells the meat he steals to local restaurants for half the price marked on the packaging. Staying true to his hustle, the suspect did not reveal the eateries that purchased the uncooked food from him.Â
Police discovered multiple outstanding warrants and charged him with theft. Shockingly enough, the latest arrest was his 70th. The South Euclid Police Department shared a photo of the open suitcase containing ground beef, oxtails, and many other sealed types of meat.Â
It is unclear what the bandit’s previous charges are or whether or not he was granted a bond this time around.Â
